Getting started in audiology
Our trainee audiology practitioner role is a great way to begin a career in audiology, without going to university. We’ve developed our own training programme that teaches the core audiology knowledge and clinical skills you need to help our customers. There are three key skill areas: triage and repair, wax removal, and fitting and rehabilitation. You will be offered to learn an individual skill set or to train in a combination of all three, depending on the requirements of the store. After you finish training, you’ll become an audiology practitioner and a valuable, skilled member of the clinical team.
Who is this role for?
This is an entry-level role with on-the-job training. It could be a great position for anyone with a proven track record in customer service, care or retail and those passionate about offering customers the best service. This role can be either a destination or a stepping stone into a further career in audiology. You could become a trainee hearing aid dispenser, move into a Support Office role or become a partner in your own Specsavers business. The sky really is the limit.

Join our Home Visits team
Would you rather be out and about in the community? Helping the more vulnerable in society and people with additional support needs? If you’re a confident driver with a full UK driving licence, you can also choose to do the trainee audiology practitioner role within our Home Visits team. You’ll work as part of a team and receive specific training to use home-based equipment, as well as to be able to work with older and vulnerable patients.
