Specsavers at Home
A life-changing, rewarding career
Domiciliary optical assistants are essential to our customer service journey, and as part of our Home Visits teams, they go out and about visiting customers in their homes.
They spend quality time with each patient, getting to know them to understand their optical needs, and they meet some marvellous characters with stories to tell along the way.
Mixing retail with healthcare provides the perfect position for someone with a passion for both. You could make an enormous difference to people’s lives.

Develop your career
We will teach you everything you need to know to be a domiciliary optical assistant.
If you are passionate about customer care and building relationships, we can provide extensive training and career development. We also offer sponsored and externally accredited Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications in dispensing or management.
We’ve won multiple awards for our training and development programmes, which is why a Specsavers career is limitless in the direction it can take you. We’re dedicated to nurturing talented people and letting them thrive.

Busting the myths with a day behind the scenes
If you’re wondering what a day with Specsavers Home Visits is really like, watch this short video and see what Optometrist Director Kejal Shah and her team get up to.
Kejal, qualified from Aston University in 2004, moving to Hertford to complete her pre-reg and then to Bethnal Green where she started her Pathway to Partnership and took on the store in Feltham. After a brief stint in Australia, she returned to the UK to become a domiciliary partner, a role she describes as “absolutely amazing”, (you can read her story here).
