Specsavers is here to change lives through better sight and hearing by delivering outstanding value, being loved by every customer and creating the place where all colleagues are proud to belong as we grow our business.
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of PMO to lead our Transition State 2 (TS 2) within the Blended Experience Programme (BEP). This role is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of the programme's agreed outcomes, timelines, and budget.
The Blended Experience Programme will transform our capabilities to enable a seamless, blended experience (instore and online) empowering our customers to fulfil their needs via services that are convenient, consistent and personalised at scale across our global footprint. This is a complex programme which we have divided into a number of ‘Transition States’. ‘Transition States’ - are essentially the phases that we will need to go through when moving from where we are today, to where we want to be.
Your Role:
- Coordinate TS 2 programme activities to ensure delivery of key outputs and realisation of programme outcomes.
- Assist in all aspects of programme delivery, including reporting, plan development, RAID, and resource demand coordination.
- Develop and manage the PMO budget, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of all project expenditures.
- Collaborate with the BEP PMO lead to define and execute the overall PMO approach for BEP TS 2.
- Ensure the TS 2 Programme Plan is developed and integrated with the TS 1 Plan.
- Establish and continuously improve PMO processes, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Support the Head of Projects – TS 2 and Director of Programmes – TS 2 in coordinating and interacting with key stakeholders to ensure they understand and can plan for the change impact on their specific function or region.
What you'll bring:
- A mindset and transformation delivery experience centred on both customers and store colleagues to ensure that changes enhance the overall customer experience.
- Familiarity with the retail industry, ideally including optometry operations, and an understanding of the challenges faced in both areas.
- Proven experience managing the PMO for large-scale, complex global transformation projects with a significant technology component.
- Expertise in setting up or scaling a PMO in a fast-paced, matrix-managed organisation.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Prince2, Agile).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) and portfolio management software.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to build and inspire cross-functional PMO teams.
- Significant experience in coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders within a complex global landscape.
- Experience in delivering and influencing organisational culture change to embed new practices.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in budget management, financial tracking, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
If you are passionate about driving change and have the skills and experience to lead our Transition State 2, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and be part of a team that is transforming the customer experience at Specsavers.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
