Local Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator in Domiciliary - 12-month fixed term contract

Function:

Domiciliary Optics Coventry 2 Team

Location:

Hybrid post with some travel to Coventry 2 office as well as support for any community engagement activity

Local Marketing Manager (support office) – Domiciliary

Working hours:

35 hours per week Monday – Friday (Some flexibility available)

In Domiciliary, we are in an exciting period of growth. On the optics side, we have ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years and a target to double the size of the business. More focus continues to be put onto businesses to drive awareness and engagement at a local level within the communities they serve. This has identified an opportunity to trial a Local Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator within a business to prove out that this kind of marketing activity is not only powerful but drives sight test growth and strong brand connection.

You will be embedded and function as part of the Coventry Domiciliary business, however, will report to the Domiciliary marketing team at support office.

Your purpose and required contribution

Our businesses are in the heart of the local communities we serve, which is why effective local

marketing and community engagement is key to help them grow new and loyal customers and help more people. As Local Marketing Community Engagement Coordinator your purpose is to support the Coventry Domiciliary optics and audiology sides of business with developing a robust plan that drives business growth as well as ongoing support with all local marketing initiatives and activity. A key part of your role will be generating leads and building relationships across care homes, sheltered housing, Specsavers stores and wider community engagement. You will use all the local marketing tools at your disposal to drive the businesses forward.

 Your role
  • Be the main point of contact for the day-to-day local marketing relationship with the Coventry business. This would involve building tactical plans to extend our reach across the business territory, as well as oversee general marketing queries and support.
  • Generate, cultivate and maintain relationships with care homes, sheltered housing, Specsavers stores and the wider community that increases awareness and drives volume into the business.
  • Community events & partnerships – organise informational sessions to showcase our services and engage with potential customers and influencers. This could be in partnership with other community groups, organisations and businesses. So, there will be a requirement to travel to some of these events and engagements across the business's territory.
  • With the support of the local marketing manager - utilise all customer and market insights that are available to inform decision making process and aid in developing local marketing planning for the business.
  • Work with Specsavers external PR agency to develop local PR & plans that amplify any community activity (e.g. customer care stories, fundraising) the business is involved in. 
  • Nurture key stakeholder relationships across the business, including senior stakeholders and partners, to inform and update on the progression of the plans in place as well as any changes and adaptations to those plans. Also managing and supporting the Coventry Domi team, so each part of the local marketing toolkit is being driven efficiently and consistently amongst all colleagues involved.

 

What you’ll bring to the role and the business

  •  Broad knowledge of local marketing and proven experience in community engagement related activity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management 
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation, motivation skills
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong team player
  • Highly resilient and results focused
  • Proficient in MS Office and Microsoft Teams experience preferred.
