About the store

Specsavers in Minehead is an established business that sits in a prominent position on the main high street and is firmly embedded within the local community. The store pride themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews and an excellent local reputation.

For the last few years, the store has been run by a Sole Optometry Partner, Paul Bradford, however due to ever increasing market share and local demand, we are now looking to introduce an additional Optometry Partner to work alongside. The business is one of the strongest performers and most profitable in the region.

Paul has a wealth of history in the industry. AOP Councillor, Optometric Advisor for NHS England, LOC Committee Member, Clinical Governance & Performance Lead – Primary Eyecare Devon, Clinic Supervisor at UMIST, Chair of Eye Health for Devon, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly. Trustee of DevonInSight. Paul was also the first accredited Optometrist for Peer review in the UK.

A tight knit team of 10 dedicated and passionate colleagues call this store home. Paul is really passionate about the clinical development and future proofing of the team through a clear pre reg plan, and as the new Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

Minehead is a beautiful coastal town and civil parish in Somerset, England. It lies on the south bank of the Bristol Channel, 21 miles north-west of the county town of Taunton, 12 miles from the border with the county of Devon and in proximity of the Exmoor National Park.  With a range of things to do for all ages, Minehead is a popular seaside holiday destination for families, couples and those with a sense for adventure. There are stunning beaches too, a fishing quarter and an historic harbour as well as being an ideal base to explore the surrounding historic villages and beautiful countryside.

Requirements of the role

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of this successful store. As the new Optometry Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
