About the store

Specsavers Yate Is located in the busy and thriving shopping centre with over 100 retail stores from well known brands to independent stores. The store is accessible by car with plentiful free parking, rail, and various bus routes.

The store relocated two years ago and benefits from the new refit standards, equipment, and aesthetics. It is a large store which boasts 6 optical test rooms and a dual room for hearcare services and clinics. You’ll be working alongside an experienced Optometry Partner who has been in situ for over 4 years as well as a knowledgeable management, retail, and clinical team. 

There is a great mix of customer demographic, and the location continues to benefit from the new housing developments and population growth as more new families move into the area due to the location being so easily accessible to cities and the countryside alike.

Store location

Yate is a town and civil parish Based in South Gloucestershire. Situated just to the southwest of the Cotswold Hills and is 12 miles northeast of Bristol city centre. The name is derived from the Old English word giete or gete, meaning ‘a gateway into a forest area’. Living in Yate means not only can you be in Bristol within twenty minutes but by heading east you will soon find yourself in the rolling hills of the picturesque Cotswolds!

The location offers residents the best of both worlds, lying in the heart of beautiful countryside, but with good transport links to the major centres of Bristol and Bath. The town offers amenities including its own leisure centre and shopping centre, as well as access to a range of attractions, excellent schools and lots of fantastic restaurants and bars.

Requirements of the role

Optical experience is desirable but not essential for the opportunity. The right person for this position will be confident, possess a strong worth ethic and a willingness to succeed. You’ll be passionate about your job and enjoy a fast-paced environment. You’ll be willing to go the extra mile for customers and someone who encourages their team to do the same.

The opportunity lends itself to someone with a strong leadership, management, and commercial background in a retail environment. You need to have the desire to be present on the shop floor of your business, lead by example, and drive success.
