Alice Springs Immersion Trip

A team of Specsavers senior support office leaders headed to Alice Springs this week to learn more about the opportunities to work more closely with local health providers in and around Alice Springs to help close the gap in eye health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Specsavers OCANZ Support

At Specsavers we are well versed in supporting overseas-trained optometrists to successfully complete OCANZ exams – enabling them to immigrate and practise here in Australia and New Zealand as fully-qualified local optometrists. Over the past nine years, our OCANZ Support team has helped over 130 overseas-trained optometrists through this program.

Living the Australian dream: Lesley Allan

Envisioning a different lifestyle for her young family, Scottish optometrist Lesley Allan decided to move to Australia. Here, she describes the process of qualifying to practise optometry in Australia through the Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand (OCANZ), and how, with Specsavers’ assistance, she was able to realise her dream.
