Position: Dispensing Optician

Location: Chatham, Kent

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience + performance related bonus

Working hours: Full and part time considered with alternate weekends

Experience level: This role is open to both newly qualified and experienced Dispensing Opticians who are registered with the GOC

Specsavers in Chatham are looking for a driven Dispensing Optician to join them on a full or part time basis. The focus at this store is about pulling together and working as a team to ensure that our valued patients have an excellent experience.

You will be joining a well-established store with a fully trained team including Optical Assistants, Dispensing Opticians, Contact Lens Opticians as well as an audiology team meaning everyone is in place to let you focus on what you do best. Boasting 9 test rooms will be impressed with the clinical technology you will have access to. The store is busy with 5 optical clinics running per day which includes daily Enhanced Optical Services (EOS), as well as daily Contact Lens clinics and 4 audiology clinics running per week.

Dispensing Opticians are the face of the clinic on the shop floor and usually an integral part of the store management team, so Chatham are keen to get you up to speed with management responsibilities. With ILM courses, pre-reg supervision and the opportunity to own your own Specsavers business, the store directors can guide you on your way to becoming a great leader. This, along with your clinical expertise will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.

Chatham has 3 sister stores – Gillingham, Hempstead Valley and Strood. All stores are owned by the same group of 4 directors who have a huge wealth of experience and would be able to offer incredible professional and clinical support and development. Collectively, they have developed 5 members of the team who are now directors of their own stores. Could you be the next?
