Technology Product Manager, Clinical (Parental Cover)

Join Specsavers as our new Technology Product Manager for our Clinical Product Team and play a key role in shaping product strategy, enabling high-performing teams, and driving the delivery of technology solutions across Northern Europe. This role is a parental cover for 12 months. 

Your role

As our Technology Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading our Clinical product team and creating the conditions for them to deliver outstanding business value and setting the Strategic direction for the product together with Heads of Product Management and Architects, as well as driving the product Vision together with the Product Owner.

You will work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure product development aligns with business priorities and strategic goals. Acting as both a people leader and product leader, you will support your teams in delivering valuable outcomes while fostering a collaborative and agile culture. You are a strong communicator who enjoys bringing people together, navigating complexity, and enabling others to succeed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and support product teams to deliver valuable business outcomes.
• Drive alignment between product vision, delivery plans, and business objectives.
• Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders to enable successful product delivery.
• Foster collaboration, agile ways of working, and continuous improvement across teams.
• Provide people leadership, coaching, and development for team members.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate product progress, priorities, and outcomes.
• Remove barriers and help teams overcome challenges that impact delivery.
• Support and strengthen a product-led mindset across the organisation.

Your new team

You'll join the Northern Europe Technology function and lead our Clinical Product team, which consist of seven team members.The team is accountable for maintaining and developing our technology platform for Optics, in collaboration with various vendors. The platform supports our instore customer journey and consists of: 

• Clinical Eye Examination- and Integration platform.
• Clinical Devices for capture of Eye Measurements and EyeHelth examinations, and 
• Clinical Journals. 

In this role, you'll lead product teams that develop and deliver technology solutions supporting colleagues, customers, and business operations across Northern Europe. Together, you'll focus on creating value through strong product leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

We are preferably looking for a candidate with the following competencies:

• Proven experience in Product Management and leading technology product teams in complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
• Deep understanding of agile product development, delivery, and leadership.
• Experience developing people, building high-performing teams, and driving business value through technology investments.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align product strategy, customer needs, and business objectives.

It would be an advantage if you have:

• Experience working across multiple countries, markets, or distributed teams.
• Experience with coaching, mentoring, facilitation, or organisational change initiatives.
• Knowledge of retail, healthcare, optometry, or audiology environments.
• Experience working within large-scale agile organisations and product-led operating models.
