Making a difference

Careers worth hearing about

Working with the UK & Ireland’s largest high street supplier of digital hearing aids has its advantages. For a start you can offer your patients the best products at the best possible price, along with exceptional service. Making a difference to people’s lives every day. The reason you chose to come into audiology. And then there are the opportunities for professional development and career progression. Size does matter, after all.

But Specsavers is also about keeping it local. About serving your local community. As an audiologist or hearing aid dispenser (HAD), you will work in just a handful of stores rather than across a large region. Meaning that you really get to know your patients, helping them throughout the entire audiology journey. It’s great for building strong working relationships with your colleagues too.

Be part of our success story

The number of NHS and private patients we serve is growing rapidly across the country. Offering them better hearing, no matter what their budget, every day. And the best aftercare programme on the high street.

Operating to the highest standards is important. We are committed to achieving IQUIP accreditation and we are using what we learn from the process to improve standards across the whole of the UK and Ireland.

As part of our team, you will provide this unique blend of customer care and professional excellence, making a big impact on the overall success of our stores.

Work with the latest technology

The best ever tech. The lowest ever prices. That’s our promise to customers. Which means you can offer the latest hearing aids and assistive devices from a range of manufacturers, including our own brand, advance, at affordable prices. Rechargeable Bluetooth hearing aids from £1,395 is just one example. Our ranges are reviewed regularly to ensure the technology we offer is as up-to-date as possible.

Benefit from outstanding training and development

It’s not just our technology that is leading edge. As an audiologist or HAD, you will have every opportunity to develop your clinical skills and keep yourself up to speed with professional and industry developments. Our professional advancement conference, known as the PAC, attracts around 2,000 optics and audiology professionals every year, with a combination of lectures, peer reviews and discussion workshops. There’s training and development closer to home, too, with supported workshops and product roadshows held around the UK. And an online professional journal, ProFile, with articles and case studies to support your continuing professional development (CPD).

Go above and beyond

Working with a highly trained and dedicated audiology and optical team, you’ll have the support you need to excel. So many career options are open to you. Nurture the next generation by supervising a trainee or a qualified hearing care assistant, or a foundation degree student. As a clinical lead, help your store to raise clinical standard and provide CPD opportunities. Consider a support office role to take forward our audiology business as a whole. Volunteer for a charity. Or begin the pathway to owning your own business as a joint venture partner – an opportunity unique to Specsavers. Do any or all of the above. The choice is yours.
